How we use your money

Ocean Stars Trust has enabled hundreds of children and their families rebuild their shattered lives and this has only been possible due to the warm generosity of our supporters.  Since 2005, our income has totalled over £100,000. 

The main ways we raise money for the projects are through our sponsorship programme, organising a variety of fundraising events and by donations generated through our bi-annual newsletter.  We are also extremely grateful to our Scottish supporters and the schools and churches who have fundraised for Ocean Stars by organising their own events.

Ocean Stars Trust is run entirely by volunteers so administrative costs are kept to a bare minimum.  This way we can ensure that the money raised by our supporters goes directly to the projects.

For the year ended 30 April 2010, our total income was £39,929 and total expenditure was £39,276.  Out of the total expenditure, 93% was spent on direct charitable activities and 7% on administrative costs.  These costs related to printing our newsletters and gift catalogue and website development.
