Through Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire…Philip keeps going!
In keeping with its variable reputation, the last few weeks have brought wind, rain and occasional days of sunshine to the southern counties of England. Some truly glorious days weather – wise, some truly awful!

Throughout it all Philip has continued to wend his way across Devon, Somerset and into Wiltshire. He walks mostly on country tracks or paths but occasionally has to tackle tarmac surfaces which are generally gritty and more uncomfortable for his bare feet.
He has made a number of stops along the way giving poetry recitals in schools and during visits to some famous landmarks. On Bank Holiday Monday in Glastonbury Abbey kitchen, he performed with fellow poet Matt Harvey and our own Judy Kendall. Judy has worked in Ost schools in Batticaloa and she recited poems which were written following her time there. It was a great evening and a wonderful start to Ost’s support time for Philip.
To date Philip has travelled 365 miles – not yet even half way! It’s a huge effort on behalf of those who because of poverty and injustice have to live barefoot. Please do continue to follow and support him: @barefootbillion @oceanstarstrust www.barefootbillion.com
