Since Ocean Stars was set up in 2005, around 15,000 children in the Batticaloa district have had access to a quality early years preschool education. In 2023, we have 900 children registered in our preschools. Feedback from feeder primary schools is that children who have attended Ocean Stars Preschools shine like stars next to their peers, who have been to other preschools.

Our students have good social skills, they are more confident, can sing English songs, participate actively in lessons, have good attendance, and their emotional and physical skills are well-developed.

OST recently met up with students from Shining Stars Preschool who are now in the school system. We met up with students from Grade 1-13. It was an amazing afternoon talking to these students about their memories of attending our Ocean Stars Shining Stars preschool and how even now they drop by to say hallo to their preschool teacher.

We met a Grade 1 teacher from the Primary school, who has 30 students in her class and 16 of them are Ocean Stars students. She said that it was like having two classes in her class as the OST students shone through in everything they did.?
