Our flagship Child Development Programme has been in the spotlight again this week as 70 teachers gathered at the Miyani Centre in Batticaloa for our 4-day residential Teacher Training Course.

The first workshop was on Communication and Language as the development of children's spoken language underpins all 7 areas of learning and
development. The workshop focused on developing the three skills areas of speaking, listening and understanding. Story telling using images and imagination, talking through paper cups tied up with string and listening games linked to music were some of the activities covered in this workshop. Through the activities the teacher's feedback they now have a better understanding of this Assessment area.
