Day 1 in Sri Lanka for Calthorpe Park students

The Calthorpe Park students were warmly welcomed at Haragama school today.

An oil lamp was made of banana leaves, banana flowers and the trunk of a banana tree . All the UK team were met by the Sri Lankan students with a bouquet of flowers. After the traditional lamp was lit the UK students had their first workshops with the SL students. Some of the funds raised by the UK students went to purchasing a harmonium for the school, and this was handed over to the school. Traditional Sri Lanka dancers entertained the UK students. It was a truly wonderful time seeing the students interact and making new friendships.

Huge thanks to everyone involved for making this is a magical day for us all.
