We are Ocean Stars, a charity dedicated to the children and communities of Sri Lanka. We believe that every child is full of potential, and work to help them have a fair chance in life through education, giving them the chance to grow and become who they want to be.
Our Vision is a Sri Lanka where every child has equal opportunities.
Our Mission is to identify and overcome barriers to equal opportunities for children in Sri Lanka through education and social enrichment, sharing friendship, hope and joy.
Working directly with the Sri Lankan people, we pride ourselves in the close support that we provide to beneficiaries, ensuring that the desired benefits have been achieved.
By providing short to long-term help which is driving social change, we are showing children their future is what they make it.
In order to consolidate our values and make them work for us we have developed a 'Theory of Change' to better inform the work of the Charity, understand how it is progressing towards our vision and the impact, we are having.
We revisit our activities and interventions annually through our Theory of Change, to make sure we are still living by our values. Whilst checking progress and authenticity of our short, medium and long‐term outcomes of our work. Strategy and activities are not static and need to be validated and amended depending on the economic situation, budgetary restrictions and needs of the communities.
This process has led to better planning and better evaluation as we are able to use our limited resources in the most beneficial way and measure our progress.
