Trustee Dilanee’s trip to Sri Lanka April 2013
Dilanee Bunter has just returned from Sri Lanka where she spent 10 days visiting projects and doing essential admin work. A highlight was to give out gifts from the OST Gift Catalogue generously donated by OST supporters. The message on the ground was to thank all donors for their kindness and support. Donating a gift of a drink bottle for 50p or an English Dictionary may not seem much to us here in the UK. However seeing the smiles on the faces of the children who receive these gifts makes our work so worthwhile.
The excitement of three children as their father received a boat donated by the gift catalogue, and to hear the recipients’ joy at being able to finally go out to sea, is heart warming. A single mum who received two goats is now able to be self- sufficient and able to provide for her two children. She was so happy and asked me to thank all our supporters in the UK.
A day was spent at Pulliyadimunai School making arrangements for the visit of 18 pupils and teachers from Calthorpe Park School in Fleet in October 2013. Dilanee also observed the completion of three building projects funded by OST.
