When the Team met in March 2026 the CPS Sri Lanka Team had raised £10,000 !! This is a truly amazing total. 6 weeks later, at the May meeting their total had gone up to £16,500 and rising!! Ocean Stars is proud of everyone in Team 2026. You are truly awesome. As well as doing team fundraising some students have been busy doing personal challenges to raise funds.

They have raised over £6000 using fundraising platforms.

Here is what they had to say:

Dexter; I completed the pier to pier walk on Saturday 4th April in a time of 4 hours 29 minutes, walking 13.3 miles in total. I'm so pleased to have raised over my £1000 target and hope to add to that total in the coming months. It was a great challenge that I really enjoyed training for. Some of the views along the way were stunning and one of the best tasting bacon baps I've ever had at the 8 mile mark! Thank you for all the support and encouragement! It all helped!

Charlie: Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Ocean Stars.

In October I am on a school trip to Sri Lanka to teach and spend time with the children in some schools there. This trip was set up when my school joined with Ocean Stars and each year a select few students raise money for the people affected by the tsunami in 2004. In the past, the money raised has paid for electricity and clean water as well as preschools and playgrounds.

I am running a 10km race in May and will aim to do more and more to raise money to help the families and children who Ocean Stars support. I am also doing odd jobs locally for extra money.

I am really excited for this adventure and thrilled to be part of the Ocean Stars charity work.

Layla: Thank you for taking the time to visit (and donate too...!?) my JustGiving page. I can't believe that ten months of training has taken me from not running unless my P.E teacher was yelling at me to running half marathons on my Sunday morning "just because"! I started this with the crazy and almost unfathomable hope of raising £2000 for Ocean Stars. This challenge is so much more than a personal milestone; it's my way to donate to and support the incredible work of Ocean Stars Trust.

Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant impact. In the worst affected (by the Boxing Day tsunami, when Ocean Stars was founded) areas, Ocean Stars has and continues to provide vital opportunities, resources and assistance. Your generosity will directly contribute to this cause, whether you can donate £3- which is enough to provide a child with a week of meals, or more you will be making the incredible difference in entire communities.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and totally secure. They'll send your money directly to Ocean Stars Trust.

Thank you for your kindness and support!

In October 2026 I will be participating in a school trip in collaboration with the charity Ocean Stars Trust. We will be visiting many local schools and communities helping to provide education and facilities that will enable children to have a brighter future.

Please give generously to support this deserving cause. You can read more about them here

Megan: Hello! I'm Megan, and I'm taking on the Spinnaker Tower Abseil to raise money for Ocean Stars Trust (OST)-a charity close to my heart. Founded in 2005 after the devastating Boxing Day Tsunami, OST works to remove barriers to equal opportunities for children in Sri Lanka through education, family support, and community enrichment.

This isn't just a one-off challenge. In October 2026, I'll be travelling to Sri Lanka to work hands-on with two schools, supporting key projects that help children learn, play, and thrive. Your donation will help make those projects possible-and ensure they reach the children who need them most.

And here's the twist: I won't be going over the edge alone. My mum is joining me-despite being genuinely afraid of heights. We're doing this together because we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and feel hopeful, no matter their circumstances.
