In order to provide a stimulating leaning environment for our students we need to supply a variety of resources. Stationary, like pens and pencils enable the art of writing to be taught but not without exercise books and paper. Whilst a photocopier and toner is considered the norm in UK schools it is a luxury in our preschools - everything is harder without this piece of equipment. It helps the teachers by enabling them to print their teaching topics and the children benefit by having pre-printed activities and some of the older children can take home activities. Educational posters for their classrooms not only enhance the environment but also enable the children to learn via a poster. Our preschools teach English as well as Tamil and the ability to have English dictionaries support the teachers and also show the children how to look up vocabulary.
