A rural preschool today - Vinayagar - a village where there is no direct access to water and parents prepare food at home to bring in.

With no advance notice, four government officials had arrived to inspect the school! It was Ofsted day (I know the feeling so well), but for once I could relax ????. Not so the poor teachers, who for the rest of the day were huddled round a table being questioned by the inspectors, or taking them to see different parts of the school.

So it was over to Nisha, George and me who by now are old hands in respect of the morning routine. The children were friendly and eager from the start which helped the session to run like clockwork. Learning, food, singing, dancing and fun were the order of the day.

Once the inspectors finally left (11.45), the teachers could relax and we were able to chat with them. I hope they get a good report as the room was well organised, the reading corner looked welcoming and the students were confident and keen to learn. Many thanks to Nisha, who took all the photos.
