Today, we welcomed teachers from across the region to the Sarvodaya Centre in Batticaloa for the start of this year's Teacher Training Programme. Arriving by minibus, motorbike, tuk-tuk, and bus, they came together with excitement, ready to learn, connect, and grow.
The evening began with a warm welcome from Ocean Stars Assistant Director, Salujah, followed by traditional dances performed by our teachers. Together, we celebrated Ocean Stars' 21st Birthday, shared a special cake, and marked the beginning of an inspiring few days ahead.
The launch also included fun team-building activities, from a bridge-building challenge to an English barn dance that filled the room with laughter, energy, and teamwork.
Tomorrow begins our first full day of training, starting with a Yoga for Children workshop.
