Day 4 began with final workshops on Understanding the World and Personal, Social & Emotional Development, equipping our preschool teachers with new ways to nurture curiosity, confidence, and empathy in their classrooms.
Teachers were also introduced to the KoBo data collection tool, preparing them for upcoming midline assessments that help us track children's progress.
Then came the moment everyone had been working toward: certificates, resource bags, and gifts for their pupils - followed by speeches, hugs, and a few hundred photos before buses carried teachers back to their villages across Batticaloa District.
One teacher summed up the week perfectly:
"Thank you for believing in us and supporting us through Ocean Stars and Fonthill Foundation. We will never forget your kindness and your support."
This training isn't just workshops - it's an investment in people. Every teacher who leaves inspired carries that forward to dozens of children in the year ahead.
