Dilanee travelled from Colombo to Batticaloa with our Ocean Stars driver Sudha who has been driving for us for the last 18 years. Sudha knows the location of every preschool we work with and always takes good care of us, going above and beyond to make sure that all aspects of our trip are going well.
The journey from Colombo to Batticaloa is 350 miles and during the daytime can take up to 8 hours. This time Dilanee was delighted that some elephants made a roadside appearance and Sudha always the first to spot wildlife to show his clients.
Arriving in Batticaloa after an exhausting journey is always exhilarating when meeting up with our Ocean Stars Lanka staff. They look forward to our visits, and meeting up is always a joyful occasion.
Preparations are well underway for our residential teacher training event funded by Fonthill Foundation UK, which commences on Thursday 10th July. The resources needed have all been packed to be transported to the venue by tuc-tuc.
